Proper Preparation

Well the summer is in full swing now. VBS is going to be the kick off of our very busy 2011 summer here at Fellowship Baptist Church. There is lot going on and I hope you check out the calendar to see what might be available for you! I am very excited to see how the Lord is going to work in hearts of our young people during the these summer months.

I know that it is easy to caught up in all the busyness of the summer, but please do not let the most important thing slip… Your relationship with Jesus Christ. Make sure before you start each day, you are spending time with the Lord and allowing Him to prepare you for the day ahead.

Why is it so important to spend time EVERY day with the Lord? Well my friend, you receive faith by reading the Bible (So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom 10:17)  and through praying in the Spirit (But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Jude 20). This faith is what gives you victory over the world and your flesh (…This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I John 5:4) and gives you power to overcome every temptation from the wicked one (Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph 6:16).

So do not rob yourself of the power that comes from a daily time of Bible reading and prayer. There is NO substitute for a time of true fellowship with the One who created us and desires to have a relationship with us.
